Meaningful Wedding Day Moments Tips

Time.

Time is the most precious thing on your wedding day, no matter big wedding, a small wedding, or elopement. It is fleeting…

It will fly by no matter what

Part of this is exciting! This day that you have planned for, invested in, and dreamed of, is finally here! It can feel totally surreal. It also happens in the blink of an eye.

Our best tips for slowing down your day is to plan parts that are just for you. It will center you.  Change the pace in your wedding planner's heart. And we dare say, change your whole perspective.

For example, we absolutely love starting the day together.

Here’s a few more tips that can apply to big/small weddings or elopements:

-Have a sunrise first look.  (Most couples tell us they were too excited to sleep in anyways!)
-Share your morning coffee together and break the “don’t see each other tradition”
-Help each other get ready

-Share a portion of your vows or read notes to each other privately (before the ceremony, possibly even on a different day).

-Immediately following the ceremony, make time just for yourselves. Ask your caterer to bring a plate of hors d’oeuvres and champagne. {Photographer’s Note: this part of the day is truly surreal and worth holding space for.

-Share a private first dance and/or reception sneak peek (For big weddings and venue weddings, you can absolutely have a sneak peek of your reception before the guests. This is such a meaningful way to share a moment with your new husband or wife).

-Sneak away for 15 minutes during golden hour to catch a sunset or get some sinking sun glow

-Be sure to step to the sidelines during the night and take it all in. You will be the most popular people in the room, and for good reason, but there is something magical about seeing the reception twinkling in the dark from afar.

-End the evening with left over cake and goodies (boxed by your staff) to take back to your room/cabin/tent.

-Take in the Milky Way in some nighttime photos. Night has a special sort of glow and romance.

What did we miss? Can you think of ways to add meaningful time to your wedding day?
